Leading the United Cup in Sydney and Perth before of the Australian Open are Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek

One of the major lead-up events to the Australian Open, the redesigned United Cup mixed team competition will feature Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek in Perth and Sydney from December 29 to January 7.

After Tennis Australia revealed the entries from the top 16 nations on Friday, Team Poland, captained by world No. 2 and four-time Grand Slam winner Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz, has been given the top seed for the 2024 edition.

No. 2 seeded Greece will be led by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari, with Jessica Pegula and Taylor Fritz from the reigning champion United States seeded third. Caroline Garcia and Adrian Mannarino will be the team captains for France, the No. 4 seed.

The Czech Republic squad will be lead by Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova and Jiri Lehecka, with Croatia rounding out the top six with Borna Coric and Donna Vekic.

In 2024, four new nations will enter the world.

The first-time competitors are Canada with Felix Auger-Aliassime and Leylah Fernandez and Serbia with Djokovic and Olga Danilovic. The Netherlands’ Tallon Griekspoor and Arantxa Rus will both make their debuts, as will Qinwen Zheng and Zhizhen Zhang of China.

There are other submissions from Britain’s Cameron Norrie, Germany’s Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber, and Norway’s Casper Ruud.

Men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles will all be played in each tie.

Melbourne Park will host the Australian Open from January 14–28.
