The famous Brazilian football player Marta has said that she would stop playing for her country at the end of 2024.

The 38-year-old has scored 116 goals in 175 games for the national team, becoming him the all-time top scorer for Brazil.

She is also the leading scorer in the Women’s World Cup with 17 goals; in 2007, Brazil lost to Germany in the final, and she came in second.

The striker was a member of the Brazilian squad that took home silver medals from the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, and she has won three Copa America Femenina championships.

If Marta gets included in the Brazil team for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, she may play for her country for the sixth time at the current Games.

Marta said in an interview with CNN on Thursday, “If I go to the Olympics, I will enjoy every moment because, regardless of whether I go to the Olympics or not, this is my last year with the national team.”

“Marta, as an athlete, will no longer be a member of the national team after 2025.

“I am very calm about this because I see with great optimism this development that we are having in relation to young athletes.”
