Rasmus Hojlund of Manchester United names English icon as his ideal partner, ignoring Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr

Unexpectedly, Rasmus Hojlund, the 21-year-old wonder at Manchester United, said that his ideal striking partner for the storied team is Wayne Rooney rather than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hojlund thinks that he and Rooney would have been a more formidable team on the field, despite the fact that he looks up to Ronaldo and models parts of his style of play after the Portuguese sensation.

Hojlund has always been a United supporter, and he has always held the Englishman in high regard due to his legendary position at Old Trafford, where he amassed an incredible 253 goals in 559 games over 13 years. Although there is no denying Cristiano Ronaldo’s influence and accomplishments at the team, Hojlund believes that Rooney is the perfect match for his playing style.

Hojlund took on the role of spearheading United’s attack after joining from Atalanta for £72 million, scoring an astounding 13 goals in his first season. Similar to Rooney’s arrival at Everton in 2004, Hojlund has had to deal with the pressure of high expectations from both supporters and analysts.

Hojlund has been very impressed by Rooney’s adaptability, work ethic, and natural goal-scoring ability. He sees the two of them working together to use their individual strengths and penetrate opponent defenses.

“I think I would take Wayne to be fair because he’s like a bulldog,” Hojlund said to Sky Sports. He would perform a fantastic job for me and he enjoys working.”Although he is self-centered, he wants to improve you and achieve objectives at the same time. Considering his stature as well, I believe we may make a great team. I may be able to make the deeper runs as well as he could drop deep.

“You never know, I’ve not played with him but I hope we will score many.”

Even though Hojlund chose Rooney above Ronaldo, he also recognized the impact the Portuguese forward’s unwavering work ethic and unwavering hunger for success had on his own play.

He said, “There were a lot of players.” “I used to look at (Robert) Lewandowski a lot, Cristiano of course is my idol so I watched him a lot.”
