Shubman Gill’s Direct Reaction Following GT’s Third Loss In Five IPL 2024 Games: “No Point In Talking…”

Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill believes that the impact player contributes to the high scoring in the games by giving hitters an additional cushion to keep hitting the bowlers. The Delhi Capitals scored their 12th 200+ total of the 2017 IPL season on Wednesday, amassing 224 for 4 against the Gujarat Titans. “I think impact players has a bit of a role (in making the matches high scoring), even if you lose extra wickets, extra cushion is there for the batters to keep going and it gives the license for the batters to keep going till the end,” Gill said after GT’s four-run defeat.

Although it was frustrating to lose in the end, everyone had excellent spirit. I thought we played some very nice cricket. Fantastic battle until the very end, and we never once believed we were eliminated from the match. Talking about strategy is pointless when you’re chasing 224; just go out and score runs.”

Gill believed that his team could have done better since the GT bowlers let up a few more runs when Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel put together a 113-run partnership, allowing DC to rally despite their early dominance.

“At one point, we believed we could limit them to around 200–210. In the final few overs, we handed up a few additional runs,” Gill said.

The benefit of pursuing, however, is that you are aware of your objectives. It’s a manageable area that can be pursued. It becomes crucial to execute [for bowlers]. You have to carry out your plans, or your yorkers, if there is nothing in the wicket for the bowlers.”

The winning captain, Pant, struck 88 off 43 balls, displaying his destructive side once again. He was declared the game’s MVP because to his explosive knock.

The stunning hitter and wicketkeeper was thrilled to be back in the middle after being sidelined for more than a year by injuries he received in a terrible auto accident.

“I feel better every day that I’m in the center. I like being on the field, and every hour counts,” Pant said.

“I strive to contribute all I have, but sometimes it takes time. I believe that my confidence in a game is increased by the first six of the match. I feel better the more time I spend at the center.”
