Breaking IPL records, Virat Kohli surpasses both MS Dhoni and Chris Gayle

NEW DELHI: After a lengthy pause, Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting master, has eclipsed Chris Gayle in the record book of most sixes.

With 241 sixes to his credit, Kohli tops the RCB chart. Gayle (239), AB de Villiers (238), Glenn Maxwell (67), and Faf du Plessis (50) are next.
Since the IPL’s founding in 2008, Kohli has only ever played for one franchise, making him a unique character in the sport.

Consequently, he has scored 241 of his sixes in the competition while playing for RCB.

Against Kolkata Knight Riders, Kohli struck an unbeaten 83 to lead his side to a score of 182/6 with four sixes and the same amount of fours. With a total of 181 runs in the competition for the Orange crown, the RCB star also jumped to the lead, surpassing Heinrich Klaasen of SRH.
