Three wickets down and no runs! New Off-Spinner Rohmalia Records Released Best Women’s T20I Bowling Stats

The highest T20I bowling numbers in women’s cricket were obtained on Wednesday by young Indonesian off-spinner Rohmalia Rohmalia. In the fifth Twenty20 International of the series, the off-spinner took seven wickets with zero runs conceded against Mongolia.

The match happened on April 25 in Bali. Rohmalia’s accomplishment is even more remarkable considering that she made her debut on the international scene in the same game. Frederique Overdijk previously held the record for the greatest T20I bowling stats in women’s cricket, having removed seven opponents while only allowing three runs to be scored against France.

Three years ago, during the T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifiers, the match took place. With her current performance, Rohmalia has joined the ranks of Overdijk and Argentine bowler Alison Stocks as the only other women’s bowler to take seven wickets in Twenty20 Internationals.

Rohmalia Rohmalia’s performance in her first match against Mongolia saw the off-spinner set three significant records. The Indonesian spinner now owns the records for the greatest economy rate and the finest numbers on debut, in addition to the best bowling analyses in an innings.

The Udayana Cricket Ground served as the site of Indonesia and Mongolia’s sixth Twenty20 International match. Prior to the scheduled match, Indonesia had already sealed the series with four consecutive wins. After the toss, Indonesian women batted first in the sixth match. With 61 runs in 44 balls, Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini made sure her side got off to a strong start. The first player in her innings hit six boundaries and one six.

But when I Gusti Pratiwi and Tri Juniarti Penu Weo were both out in the fifth over, the tide of the game swiftly changed. With the bat in half, Rohmalia made a contribution as well, hammering 13 runs in 15 deliveries. Ni Murtiari scored another 13 runs to help Indonesia reach 151/5.

In the second innings, Tsendsuren Ariuntsetseg, Odzaya Erdenebaatar, Jargalsaikhan Erdenesuvd, Gansuk Anujin, Battsetseg Namuunzul, Battsogt Narangerel, and Mendbayaar Enkhzul were all removed by Rohmalia, making history. The odds of a win were diminished when five of these hitters were out at ducks. The Mongolian captain, Ariuntsetseg, scored the most runs in the second half with only 7 runs in 22 balls. India won by a commanding 127 runs as a result, their sixth consecutive win overall.

In the series finale, the Indonesian team defeated Mongolia by 10 wickets to sweep the opposition 6-0. Even though Rohmalia bowled three overs throughout the game, he was unsuccessful this time.
