Wanindu Hasaranga’s IPL entry will be further postponed

Wanindu Hasaranga, the captain of Sri Lanka’s Twenty20 international team, is expected to arrive later than expected in the 17th Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The cause of the delay is unknown.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) acquired Hasaranga for INR 1.50 crore, making her their primary international spinner. SRH is depending on its Indian spin alternatives, Mayank Markande and Shahbaz Ahmed, in the meantime.

Although a specific date for Hasaranga’s arrival is unknown, his management has said that the cunning leg-spinner “will definitely join the team.”.

“He will join sooner than later,” the management of Hasaranga said on Friday, March 29, to Cricbuzz. “All I can say is he will definitely join the team.”

The rumours that Hasaranga would not be happy to play for SRH this season due to a lower salary than the INR 10.50 crore he received at RCB the previous season were also refuted by his management.

We could have signed up for an INR 2 crore base price if money had been an issue. Additionally, fewer games equate to less money. He needs to tend to his ankle. In addition, he leads the national team as captain,” his manager said.

On Sunday, March 31, the 26-year-old is scheduled to go to Dubai for a medical examination on his left ankle, which has been giving him constant problems.
