Salem chief constable passes away from cardiac arrest

Salem: On Monday, while on duty, a chief constable of the Salem district police passed away after an abrupt cardiac arrest.

 

The dead have been identified as the city’s Adivaram resident, A. Haridass, 59. He was working at the Mallur police station as the chief constable.
Around two in the morning on Monday, Haridass, who had been working at the station since Sunday night, reported having excruciating chest discomfort.

His coworkers quickly drove him to the government’s Mohan Kumaramangalam medical college and hospital in Salem so he could get treatment.

A Mallur police station official said, “Unfortunately, he did not respond to treatment and passed away at 5.30am.”
The policeman was honored by Salem district SP A. K. Arun Kabilan and other officers. They also sent their condolences to the constable’s family.
