A man was arrested in Uttar Pradesh for rape and forcibly converting his live-in partner
According to authorities, a 33-year-old guy was detained here on suspicion of raping his live-in girlfriend and compelling her to convert to Islam, according to reports.
They further claim that Khalid Chaudhary compelled the Dalit lady to have an abortion after she moved in with him in September 2022.
After being detained on Saturday evening, Chaudhary allegedly confessed to his crime upon being questioned by police.
The lady allegedly filed a complaint alleging that she met Chaudhary, who presented himself as Deepak and pretended to be a writer, on social media three years before and moved in with him in September 2022.
According to the accuser, Chaudhary raped and beat her while also forcing her to become a Muslim, consume beef, and end her almost four-week pregnancy.
Nipun Agarwal, the deputy commissioner of police for the city, stated on July 21 that a FIR had been filed at the Vijay Nagar police station in response to the woman’s complaint, which was filed in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities Act), and the Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act.
