Bar Council assistance for surviving attorneys

Prayagraj: According to Rajesh Kumar Pandey, the Trusteeship Committee of the UP Bar Council met on Wednesday at the attorney general’s camp office and agreed to provide support to the families of lawyers who passed away recently and were under 70 years old. The committee also resolved to provide Rs 5 lakh to these families. The state government already gives the families of these attorneys Rs 5 lakh.

There are now over 400 lawyer applications under review across the state. Advocate general Ajay Kumar Misra, chairman of the UP Bar Council’s trusteeship committee, chaired the meeting. Members of the Bar Council, Janki Sharan Pandey, Pradeep Kumar Singh, and additional law secretary Pradeep Verama were present, as was principal secretary (law) Vinod Singh Rawat. Applications for funding of Rs 5 lakh will be granted at a second meeting scheduled for the first week of May. tnn
