Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Kajal Nishad of the Samajwadi Party will face off against BJP MP Ravi Kishan

2024 Lok Sabha Elections in Gorakhpur: One of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s favorite Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh is Gorakhpur. The five assembly segments that make up the Gorakhpur seat are Sahajanwa, Pipraich, Caimpiyarganj, Gorakhpur Urban, and Gorakhpur Rural. The constituency is open to all candidates and is not exclusive to members of Scheduled Tribes or Castes (SCs or STs). Gorakhpur was represented by Yogi Adityanath five times: in 1998, 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014.
2019 competition

With a margin of 3,01,664 votes, actor and BJP candidate Ravindra Shyamnarayan Shukla, well known as Ravi Kishan, won the seat for the first time in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. With 7,17,122 ballots cast, he had a 60.52% vote share. He triumphed against Rambhual Nishad, the SP candidate, who received 4,15,458 votes (35.06%). Madhusudan Tripathi, a Congress candidate, received 22,972 votes (1.94%) and finished third.

As a result, the BJP has put Ravi Kishan forward once again this time. But Kajal Nishad is a fresh face for the SP.
