Traffic Issues in Lucknow to be Fixed by AI

At the city’s busiest crossroads, the Lucknow administration will now use artificial intelligence (AI) to manage traffic. With this modification, sensors will be used to manage traffic at the junction. To do this, the signal system will get new software that has already been installed but is rarely utilized.

The action is intended to assist regulate the city’s traffic situation, which at the moment seems to be out of control. The Smart City project will make changes to the traffic lights that were put in place in Lucknow.

There are 85 junctions in the city, 10 of which will be key crossroads, according to the spokeswoman for the traffic department.

The vehicle load in a certain direction will be monitored by a sensor-based integrated traffic management system (ITMS), and that way will get the green light rather than the one that is empty.

“Three different kinds of software are now operating in ITMS’s traffic control system. The system will be upgraded to include this AI-based software. The system of sensor-based traffic management would be put into place within a month, according to Ashish Srivastava, DCP Traffic, Lucknow.

“The action will ease the intersection’s traffic congestion. Additionally, it will save commuters time, he said.
