Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra begin the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: In an attempt to revitalize the Congress party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra continued their Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Saturday from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Starting at Moradabad at Jama Masjid Chauraha, the padyatra proceeded to Sambhal Chauraha.

“Narendra Modi ji tells you that this country is of everyone,” Rahul Gandhi stated, taking aim at the BJP administration. Ninety percent of individuals, however, get no involvement. Caste census should be the first step towards participation if 90 percent of the population want to participate.

“This is the nature of the BJP system: someone will distract you by discussing Bollywood or a surgical strike… Amit Shah will watch in the interim. Half of the population in this nation is backward, 15% are minorities, 15% are Dalits, and 8% are Adivasis. How much involvement do this 90% have in our nation, I would want to know. None of them are represented in the media. They are listed under MGNREGA, but you won’t find them in the media, large corporations, or higher courts. Rahul Gandhi questioned, “PM Modi says, ‘Hindustan sabka hai, ye sabka Hindustan kaise hai?’ if 90% aren’t receiving any engagement.

Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized the UP government over paper leaks, saying, “28 lakh students took the test for UP Police, yet the material was leaked… The rate of unemployment has gone up since the BJP established both the state and federal governments. There won’t be any growth, no facilities, no stopping of paper leaks, and no employment till that time. Only when you cast your vote in accordance with your experiences can change occur.”

“I want to question all of you, who supported Yogi Adityanath and the BJP in the assembly elections, whether your genuine concerns—such as rising prices, joblessness, and paper leaks—have been addressed. What were you thinking when you cast your vote, may I ask? Has the brass (peetal) industry here seen any developments?” she enquired.

Prior to this, senior party leader Jairam Ramesh responded to a question about whether sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will accompany brother Rahul by saying, “Yes, she will definitely join (the yatra) today.” The yatra is now on its 42nd day. Today, we are starting again from Moradabad. The yatra will begin tomorrow, on the 25th, from Sambhal. Later in the day, we will arrive in Agra, where we anticipate seeing Akhilesh Yadav. There will be a pause (in the yatra) from February 26 to March 1 due to meetings in Delhi and Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Cambridge University on February 27 and 28. We shall resume our journey from Dholpur on March 2nd.Rahul Gandhi will have darshan at Mahakaleshwar Mandir in Ujjain on March 5.

On Sunday, Akhilesh will participate in Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
According to the Samajwadi Party, party chairman Akhilesh Yadav would go to Agra on February 25 for Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.

Congressmen invited Yadav to participate in the yatra in Agra during a Thursday afternoon visit to the Samajwadi Party headquarters.

With an invitation letter from party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Ajay Rai, the head of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, senior party leader PL Punia, and other party members visited the SP headquarters.

“Akhilesh Yadav is not in Lucknow, so I received the letter,” said Rajendra Chaudhury, national secretary of the SP.

He said that Yadav would begin the yatra in Agra on February 25 at 2:00 PM.

The two partners of the INDIA group on Wednesday declared the seat-sharing plan for the Lok Sabha elections, which states that the Congress would run for 17 of the state’s 80 seats.

Rahul’s Yatra is supported by Kamal Nath
Congress veteran Kamal Nath turned to social media on Friday to rally support for “our leader” Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which will reach Madhya Pradesh next month, after his visit to Delhi, which sparked rumors that he was about to join the BJP.

After the former chief minister and his son, MP Nakul Nath, arrived in Delhi last week, party sources said that Gandhi had talked with the 77-year-old Nath over the phone and persuaded him not to quit the party.

Kamal Nath posted on X (formerly Twitter) in the evening, saying, “The people of Madhya Pradesh and Congress workers are thrilled to welcome Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.”

“Our leader Rahul Gandhi has hit the streets across the country and declared a decisive fight against injustice, oppression and exploitation,” said the former Union Minister.

By embarking on the Yatra, Nath urged the state’s citizens and the Congress “to become strength and courage for Rahul Gandhi”.

“Jointly you all and I will bring this great campaign against injustice to a logical end,” he stated in a letter.

A state Congress spokesman earlier in the day said that Nath would arrive in Gwalior on March 2 and take part in the yatra till March 6.
