‘Har Ghar Solar Abhiyan’ will be run by the UP government starting on October 2

The Yogi administration will launch the “Har Ghar Solar Abhiyan” in Lucknow and Varanasi Solar City on October 2, the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, for the full month in order to promote solar energy in the state.

According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s office, the goal of this campaign is to encourage the use of solar energy and make efforts to meet the target established by the Uttar Pradesh government under the Solar Energy Policy 2022 of the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), which aims to achieve 6,000 megawatts of solar rooftop plant installations (residential/commercial).

“The first boot camp under the ‘Har Ghar Solar Abhiyan’ will be organized at Vikas Bhawan in Lucknow and close to the Municipal Corporation office in Varanasi,” UPNEDA Director Anupam Shukla said.

According to him, in addition to residential and commercial customers, concerned officials and staff from a number of different agencies will also attend this camp organized in the interests of consumers.

According to the press release, attendees will also learn in-depth information on how solar rooftop systems are installed, the application procedure, and how to set up net meters while at the camp.
