Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, said that Team India would have defeated Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 final had it taken place in Lucknow rather than Gujarat.

Prior to the game, India was dismissed after 50 overs with a score of 240. Virat Kohli (54 in 63 balls, four boundaries), KL Rahul (66 in 107 balls, one four), and captain Rohit Sharma (47 in 31 balls, four boundaries and three sixes) all scored significant runs on a challenging batting surface.

For Australia, Mitchell Starc (3/55) was the best bowler. Josh Hazlewood (2/60) and captain Pat Cummins (2/34) both bowled brilliantly. Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa both claimed a wicket.

India had the Australians at 47/3 as they were chasing 241 runs. Australia defeated the Indian side by six wickets thanks to knocks by Travis Head (137 in 120 balls, with 15 fours and four sixes) and Marnus Labuschagne (58 in 110 balls, with four boundaries).

The World Cup finalists will now play each other in a five-match Twenty20 International series that kicks off in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on November 23.
