Lovebirds become partners in crime after they tie the knot

LUCKNOW: A young couple in Lucknow resorted to grabbing bags, phones, and other costly stuff in order to earn enough money to be married. The event was similar to the plot of the Bollywood film “Bunty Aur Babli,” in which the main pair scammed and stole from others.

Unfortunately, they ran out of luck and were caught in the police net with their assistant, who had been stationed nearby the murder site to protect them and pretend to be police in case they were discovered.
The three, who are 19 years old and named Shivam Rai, Himanshu Yadav, and Khushi, were reportedly brought to Lucknow from Ghazipur by the police after learning that the state capital is home to a large number of wealthy individuals. Shivam’s criminal record consists of seven cases, while Khushi, his fiancĂ©e, and Himanshu, their assistant, each have three charges against them.
Police were able to identify the motorbike that the group was using on Wednesday, leading to their arrest. “Khushi rode the pillion and stole people’s phones and luggage while Shivam drove the motorbike. They succeeded in committing three similar crimes in a week, but police caught them by using CCTV footage, according to ADCP Syed Ali Abbas.
Along with recovering some of the stolen items, the police also detained the couple. Himanshu was arrested as a result of their confession. Shivam and Himanshu, who left school after Class 10, are pals, according to the police. They are both unemployed. “Shivam developed feelings for Khushi, a Ghazipur native. Shivam, a middle-class man, informed his family he wanted to marry Khushi, but his father chastised him and advised him to find a good job first, according to a police officer.
“With no other option, Shivam and Himanshu conducted thefts in Ghazipur, although they were only able to take around 7,000. To increase their income, the three of them moved to Lucknow in 2003. On the day of the crimes, they did not communicate by phone and resided apart in leased housing, he said. The ladies in Gomtinagar had been the target of the group on January 13, January 14, and January 21.
