Mini-truck rams into people in Sitapur, UP, leaving 3 dead and 3 critically injured, according to police

In this Uttar Pradesh district, a mini-truck struck three persons, killing three of them and gravely injuring three others, according to police reports released on Monday.

Late on Sunday night, a truck’s driver lost control of the truck and it plowed into pedestrians, including food sellers, in front of the Sitapur bus station, according to Circle Officer (City) Susheel Kumar.

In the event, three persons were murdered and three others, including a lady, suffered critical injuries. According to Kumar, those injured have been sent to the trauma center in Lucknow.

The victims came from various Sitapur city neighborhoods.

According to Kumar, the dead have been identified as Abhishek (age 22), Akash (age 22), and Afjal (age 48). Abhishek and Akash were ice cream dealers.

Afjal was at the bus station when the tragedy occurred, and his wife and kid both suffered grave injuries.

According to authorities, the small truck’s driver has been detained and a case has been opened.

Eyewitnesses said that the driver was intoxicated and speeding when the accident occurred.
