Death of a Lucknow NEET candidate: allegations of rape and murder against a buddy and the apartment owner

A rape and murder complaint was filed on Wednesday against the flat owner and his companion, after the unexplained death of a 22-year-old NEET candidate who allegedly fell from the ninth story of an apartment in the Sushant Golf City region on January 22. The people named in the case are Sameer, the landlord, and his buddy Shubham Rai, who was also the girl’s acquaintance.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Shashank Singh, the mother of the dead girl filed a complaint, claiming that her daughter was pushed off the ninth-floor terrace by both Sameer and Shubham, which resulted in her death. He continued, saying, “A case of murder and rape has been registered, and an investigation will commence,” adding that the police will deal with the offenders.

The girl, a Sitapur native, was in Lucknow getting ready for the medical entrance test. On Sunday night, she and her friend Shubham Rai had gone to a party at a unit in Sushant Golf City’s Celebrity Meadows Apartment.

ADCP Singh went on to say that the two accused admitted during questioning that the girl had fallen unexpectedly at approximately 11 p.m. as she was chatting on the phone on the balcony at the rear of the apartment. “After she collapsed, her buddy Shubham scooped her up and brought her to a private hospital, where it was determined that she had passed away. On Sunday night, around 1:30 a.m., Shubham reported the incident to the Sushant Golf City police station, according to the officer.
