Notice to fertilizer company for spreading pollution in Kanpur, AQI of the city is deteriorating

The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) has sent a notice to the Fertilizer Company located in Panki, Kanpur on charges of spreading pollution. Also accused the company that it does not have adequate arrangements to prevent water and air pollution there. The pollution board has directed that if the response is not given in time, action will be taken to stop the operation of the factory and cut off the supply of electricity and water.
Gas leak found in plant inspection
Let us inform you that the regional officer of UPCB inspected the fertilizer company. He had sent the report here to the Lucknow headquarters. A notice has been issued to the Fertilizer Company from the headquarters. In the inspection of regional officer Amit Mishra, it was found that the urea dust coming out of the prilling towers of the urea plant contaminates the air about 2 kilometers from here.
Along with this, rust was found in the pipeline and overhead pipeline of ammonia storage tanks installed here, and gas was leaking from here. The team monitored here for 24 hours. In this, the amount of ammonia gas was found in the air of the surrounding environment.
pollution reached the yellow zone
Kanpur has the highest pollution after Delhi. The air here has remained poisonous since before Diwali. The AQI (AQI) of Kanpur was 196 on Sunday, which decreased to 155 on Monday. It comes in the Yellow Zone, which can be considered unsatisfactory.
The AQI was 172 at Nehru Nagar Center and 176 at Kidwai Nagar Center at 4 pm on Monday. The AQI was only 133 at 6 in the morning, which kept increasing gradually during the day. The maximum amount of dust and smoke particles was 317. Still, the amount of carbon monoxide remained above the standard.
