Now, question banks for students in grades nine and ten

Prayagraj: First, a question bank for over 25 lakh students in classes 9 and 10 at over 27,000 UP Board institutions has been created. This question bank, which was created by the UP Department of Basic Education, would assist these students in better preparing for competitive admission exams like those for engineering and medicine.

These question banks in disciplines like science and mathematics have been collaboratively created by the State Institute of Science Education (SISE), the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, and subject matter experts from specific universities, colleges, and secondary schools.

The former state project director of Samagra Shiksha, Abhiyan Vijay Kiran Anand, assigned SISE the task of creating them. The science coordinator of SISE Prayagraj, Manjusha Gupta, said that the scientific question bank for classes 9 and 10 now has 12 and 13 chapters, respectively. About 70 questions total, divided into multiple choice, very short, short answer, and long answer questions covering cognitive, perceptual, application, and skill types, were included in each chapter. She revealed that, as a result, there were around 840 questions for kids in class 9 and an additional 910 questions for those in class 10. According to her, every question in the bank will help students learn and apply science’s core ideas in an automated manner.

Similarly, according to Arvind Kumar Gautam, the coordinator of mathematics at SISE-Prayagraj, the math question bank for classes 9 and 10 has 12 and 14 chapters, respectively. For pupils in classes 9 and 10, there was a compilation of around 912 and 1064 questions, respectively. He also said that example questions had been provided at the start of each question type to pique students’ curiosity. SISE-Prayagraj has forwarded the question banks created using the NCERT curriculum to the Uttar Pradesh State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Lucknow. It is anticipated that students will get access to them shortly. Right now, the market is limited to question banks created and released by private publishers.

“Separate science and mathematics question banks have been developed for classes 9 and 10 to ensure that students understand the concepts of mathematics and science,” SISE director Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi said. These question banks have given students the chance to practice in order to meet the targeted teaching-learning objectives and improve their test performance. He said, “These exercise tasks will be helpful in increasing students’ understanding of the subjects and clarifying basic concepts.”
