UP Know What Section 207 of the Motor Vehicle Act Is? A Man’s Car Turned Into a “Chopper” and Was Seized

The aspirational ambitions of a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, who cleverly converted an automobile into a homemade aircraft, have been interrupted by police!

The project’s creative director, Ishwar Deen, paid more than 2.5 lakh rupees, but after authorities ordered him to take down the improvised rotor that was affixed to his car’s top and gave it the look of a helicopter, ANI said.

Ishwar, a resident of Khajuri Bazar, was stopped by a traffic policeman and fined for making unapproved modifications when he was traveling to a workshop to have his “car copter” painted. The cops seized the unusual car, which was eventually freed once the fine was paid.

His invention is shown in a video that has been posted outside of an Ambedkar Nagar police station, and it has received a lot of attention and comments on social media. In the video, a large group of bystanders and police officials can be seen examining the car.

Ishwar’s customized vehicle also has a helicopter tail rotor attached to the boot, which further adds to its unique look. He said that he planned to make his striking design available for unusual wedding transportation as well as other special events.

Ishwar said, “I changed the car to make bookings during the wedding season, allowing my family to earn extra money.” “The police ordered the modified part of the automobile to be removed and fined Rs 2,000. I put in endless hours and Rs 2.5 lakh on this project.”

He made it clear that his “chariot” would not be driven on ordinary roads and would only be used sometimes at weddings. Ishwar cited comparable automobiles that are in use in other areas, such as Pratapgarh and Bihar.

The authorities cited safety concerns as the main justification for its seizure. They made it clear that the Motor Vehicles Act had not been followed in the modifications made to the vehicle.

What does the Motor Vehicle Act’s Section 207 mean?
According to Section 207 of the Motor Cars Act, the department of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) must provide prior consent for any changes made to cars. If you don’t cooperate, there may be legal repercussions.

HOW MUCH CHANGE IS PERMITTED UNDER THE PERMISSIBLE LIMIT?

The legally allowable limitations must be followed by modifications. Any changes made in excess of these restrictions might result in fines or the car being seized.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Vishal Pandey said, “Yesterday, a modified car was seized during routine vehicle checks conducted under the Model Code of Conduct enforcement.” The car was impounded in accordance with Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act, and modifications need approval from the RTO department. Additional research is being conducted.
