UP man arrested for fatally murdering his wife

Ashwani Kumar, a citizen of Uttar Pradesh, was taken into custody by the Solan police on Sunday after he fatally strangled his wife in the Kaleen neighborhood.

According to Solan SP Gaurav Singh, during a fight over a disagreement yesterday, Ashwani angrily murdered his wife. The SP said that an inquiry was under progress and that he had admitted to the crime.

The employees of the Regional Hospital informed the Sadar police that a lady named Rashmi had died under mysterious circumstances.

Since Rashmi was from Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, the police delayed performing the post-mortem until her family arrived. Following her family’s arrival, Rashmi’s corpse was brought to IGMC-Shimla for the post-mortem. There were scratches on her neck, according to the police. Ashwani was the subject of a murder case filed under Section 302 of the IPC.
