UP Road Accident: 2 Dead, 16 Injured

According to police, a four-wheeler struck a truck from behind near Utelwa here on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway early on Wednesday morning, resulting in the deaths of two laborers and the injuries of 16 others.

Around 4 a.m., the event happened to the van carrying 18 laborers from a Varanasi bread factory while it was traveling to Lucknow, according to SHO of the Kamrauli Police Station Abhinesh Kumar.

According to the police officer, it’s possible that the car’s tired driver was the reason it struck the truck from behind.

The SHO claimed that while the wounded, including eight whose condition is listed as serious, are receiving treatment at a hospital while Manoj Kumar and Ram Kishore, both 30 years old and residents of Sitapur, perished on the scene.

The officer said, “The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.”
