A man sets a world record by consuming 160 Carolina Reapers, the hottest pepper in the world, in one sitting

Unexpectedly, a Melbourne man set a global record by consuming over a kilogram of the spiciest and hottest peppers in one sitting. In one session, he consumed 160 Carolina Reaper Peppers—the spiciest chilli pepper in existence. Gregory ‘Iron Guts’ Barlow is the guy who made headlines for his amazing decision to eat a staggering 160 of the hottest chilies.

Melbourne-based Greg Barlow enjoys being the center of attention when he consumes chili peppers. In order to become used to the searing sensation that follows ingestion of a hot, spicy food item, he first consumed one or more Carolina Reapers. He then moved closer to the League of Fire. It is a company that ranks consumers of chiles in a variety of areas.

Eating the most Carolina Reaper peppers in a single sitting is said to be the most difficult feat for anybody wanting to take on the challenge to consume any hot pepper. ‘Iron Guts’ Barlow, however, overcame even the most treacherous challenges in his pursuit of global dominance.

It is said that the Carolina Reaper pepper is hundreds of times hotter than the jalapeño pepper. It is more potent than any other kind of pepper. Therefore, someone who consumes 160 of these need unwavering commitment and concentration. Greg Barlow did not let anything to stand in the way of his world record.

I don’t like chilli, and I don’t workout, Barlow said in an interview with Beat Magazine. He said, “This hurts! Why would I go above what is necessary? Before setting the world record for eating the most Carolina Reapers in a single session, I did consult a doctor. I was able to consume 160 (953 g), breaking the American’s previous record of 121 (714 g). I’m extremely disappointed that I didn’t consume 1 kilogram, but I didn’t want the chilies to sit in my stomach.

On May 1, 2022, the guy accomplished a significant achievement by eating 160 Carolina Reaper peppers in one sitting, breaking the previous Guinness Record and winning first place in the League of Fire. His record seems to be too difficult for someone else to surpass anytime soon.
