A three-year-old AP priest saves Rs 1.3 lakh with cash and purchases a “dream scooter”

TIRUPATI: To fulfill his desire of owning a scooter, a destitute temple priest saved the money that worshippers gave him every day for around three years. He collected the pennies in gunny bags and went to an automotive dealer when they added up to Rs 1.30 lakh, which was enough to purchase his ideal scooter. When the priest entered the Palamaner car dealership in Chittoor carrying a couple heavy packages, the employees were taken aback.

Later, the showroom employees discovered that the bags had one, two, and five rupee coins. Since counting money takes time, they were first hesitant to accept them. However, they agreed to the little alteration after seeing the priest’s resolve.
On social media, a video of the priest keeping watch as the showroom employees tallied the monies has gone viral. Muralidhar Acharyulu, the priest, is employed by the Kalabhairava Swamy temple in Byreddipalli, a hamlet close to the boundary of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and AP.
Over a three-year period, coins were collected.
The priest informed the reporters that he had saved up Rs 1.3 lakh in coins over the previous three years from contributions made by followers in order to purchase a scooter. He said, “The showroom employees were astonished at first, but they ultimately consented.”
The coins were then scattered around a few showroom tables by the priest. Once the store personnel had confirmed the payment of Rs. 1.3 lakh and counted the coins for many hours, Acharyulu received the bike of his choosing. Then, a happy Archaryulu drove home in his ideal car.
