After an accident, a doctor in Delhi “boycotts” Uber, saying it is unsafe to travel with them

These days, people are quite picky about ride-hailing services like Uber. They are safe, practical, and accessible almost all the time. These app-based taxi services do have some drawbacks, however, since customers often file repeated complaints against the business. Numerous client complaints have been reported about these services, ranging from expensive charges to reckless driving or inappropriate driving behavior. One such severe incident surfaced recently when a doctor from Delhi described the upsetting experience she had while riding in an Uber vehicle. The event under consideration concerns a female passenger who sustained injuries over the course of the journey.

Recently, Dr. Ruchika revealed the incident on an X thread and said she would no longer use the company’s services. She said that she was on her way from her house to the closest metro station when the driver’s reckless driving resulted in an accident.

“I refuse to support @Uber_India. Traveling with them is now risky as there are drivers on the road who lack a driver’s license or expertise and do not take any precautions to ensure the safety of their passengers. She expressed worries on the safety of the passengers in her post, “I met with an accident yesterday.”

Dr. Ruchika provided a thorough description of her ordeal in the tweets that followed, describing how the motorist attempted to make a U-turn without using his signal and ultimately left her hurt. The lady shared a photo of her wounded hand on social media and said that she had to skip school and work and was advised to be in bed rest with hefty medication and torn muscles.

“All of the losses—financially, physically, or emotionally—are mine to bear. Every significant expense I have to pay. All of the trauma I have experienced. Everything that I lost, including missing my courses for my advanced studies since I couldn’t go to the office. “How am I going to overcome that?” she asked.

Ruchika asked Uber India to check drivers in her article, but she also noted that the driver was not licensed. In addition to the outpouring of support from users supporting her, the official Uber account also reacted to the message. “Ruchika, we hope you and the driver are okay. This sounds very scary. Kindly provide the registered contact information that were used to make the DM reservation for this trip. You will hear from our safety team soon,” it said.

However, X users deluged the comment area, criticizing the taxi services for their reckless actions and even demanding that the business cover Ruchika’s medical expenses.
