‘Culpable Homicide’ Charges Booked Against Mumbai Man Seen Riding Scooter With 7 Children

The Mumbai Police have filed a complaint against a guy who was seen on video riding a scooter across the city with seven young children, which is a flagrant breach of road safety.

In a video that quickly became popular on social media, a guy is seen scootering along with four kids: two standing at the rear, three sitting, and two more in the front. A guy was detained by the police after making an effort at culpable homicide that did not equal to murder.

A guy by the name of Sohail Qureshi posted the video on June 20; as of the time this story was written, it has received over 44k views. Seven children were seen in the video riding pillion with an adult on a scooter without any helmets on.

“This reckless lunatic is scooting along with seven kids. He has to be detained right now for endangering the lives of seven little children. Even the parents of these children need to face legal action, one commenter said.

Internet users were horrified by the footage and urged severe punishment for jeopardising lives.

“He is endangering everyone’s life. Additionally, those of other drivers who are out on the road at the same time. If this vehicle loses balance and collides with people on 2-wheelers, they risk falling, a user wrote.

Police Have Submitted A Case

The action was done shortly after the Mumbai police became aware of the situation. According to Indian Penal Code Section 308 (attempt at murder), the police have filed a complaint.

“Not the journey we endorse! All pillion riders’ and other people’s lives were at risk because of this rider. The accused rider has been charged with a severe crime under Section 308 of the Indian Penal Code for attempting to commit culpable homicide that does not equal to murder, the Mumbai Traffic Police tweeted.
