Dubai Floods: Officers Rescue Cat From Underneath Submerged Car Door | Watch

Following unprecedented levels of rainfall that flooded Dubai’s roads, a cat was found clinging to the door of a submerged vehicle, leading to a touching rescue story.

 

The cat is seen in the heart-stopping footage, which was released on Wednesday by the Government of Dubai Media Office, hanging tightly to the door handle of the truck as the floods are rising. The trapped cat was successfully rescued by Dubai Police officials who responded promptly and navigated the region by boat, guaranteeing its safety despite the difficult circumstances.

Dubai, the financial center of the Middle East, is completely shut down due to flooding after Tuesday’s storm that dumped the most rain in the UAE in 75 years, at 259.5 millimeters.

Social media users shared videos of abandoned and flooded automobiles, demonstrating the depth of the flooding on Dubai’s roadways. Due to the intense rain, several planes at Dubai Airport—the biggest airport in the world for international travel—saw delays, cancellations, and diversions. Considering the continuous difficulties, passengers were encouraged not to make needless trips to the airport.

All check-ins were halted by Emirates Airline due to problems staff and passengers were having traversing flooded access roads.
Dubai’s schools have been shuttered until the next week due to the massive damage, underscoring the enormous challenge that lies ahead for recovery operations.
