“SOS Wasn’t Working”: Dude Rides With Wife Using Uber Driver Who ‘Harassed’ Him for Extra Cost

Recently, a guy revealed an unsettling story about his wife and an Uber driver, alleging the driver attempted to overcharge her. Uber was criticized by Gajender Yadav, also known as “X,” for failing to answer his wife’s two “SOS” calls during the event.

Yadav shared the number of the vehicle and a snapshot of his Uber app data before cautioning others, saying, “If you are in Delhi…don’t take ride with Karan.” He called out Uber’s “nonsense behaviour,” saying that “the cab driver started asking for Rs 200 extra after driving for one kilometre.” My spouse even used the SOS button to have Uber 2 assist in resolving this issue. After two days, nobody at Uber is interested in finding out the precise reason why the SOS button was used. No investigation. That is Uber INDIA’s situation.

Uber replied, “Hey, could you please confirm the amount of cash paid to the driver?” inquiring for confirmation of the payment made to the driver. We’ll check in again. Yadav, who was frustrated, emphasized that passenger safety came first and not money. “The issue is not F******** money. It concerns passenger SAFETY. A group of foolish people waiting for customers, He scoffed.

He said that Uber was “refunding the money” in a later post, but he questioned why it was so difficult to appreciate the safety risks. “Why is it so difficult to understand that the problem is passenger safety?” he said. Why the devil was the SOS button not functioning? What steps need to be implemented for Uber drivers? How is it possible for your driver to ask a female passenger to get out of the taxi while it is still in motion? Even so, he sent a snapshot of their conversation, in which the Uber support agent “reviewed the trip” and “adjusted the trip fare to Rs. 0.”

The post quickly went viral and attracted comments from both sides. Yadav continued to provide updates in the meantime, outlining Uber’s noncommittal position.

“@Uber@Uber_India @UberIN_Support wakes up after this thread went viral,” said his most recent update. He said that Uber had terminated the driver’s account and disclosed details regarding the SOS function, claiming that it was run by an outside system.

Despite the incident, Yadav thanked everyone for their support and for making his thread viral, which highlighted Uber’s reaction.
