This American man won the Rs. 424 billion lottery ten years ago without telling his parents
A California citizen who won the lotto more than 10 years ago and received over Rs 400 crore made the decision not to tell their family. He recently admitted the truth, wondering whether he was foolish to have saved such a substantial sum of money for himself.
The person reportedly won a lottery for over £40 million, or around Rs 424 crore, 10 years ago. It’s surprising that this individual kept their family in the dark about this enormous amount of money. Their boyfriend, siblings, and family members were unaware that they were millionaires.
Despite owning such a large sum of money, the individual opted to lead a simple life, simply investing in a new vehicle and a new home to conceal their riches. He still leads a regular life with their family now despite having millions of rupees in his bank account.
The individual said that keeping the lottery win a secret was due to his disdain for his sister and brother-in-law, who they thought would demand a portion of the money if they learned. Despite being 67 years old and childless, the individual is sure they will not give their sister even a single dime. It is unknown whether he has kept this a secret up until now or if they have told anybody after the news was out in 2021 that their parents had gone away.
Another guy in Southern China named Li, according to Bloomberg, claimed a lottery jackpot reward of 219 million yuan (USD 29.9 million) while disguising himself in a yellow cartoon outfit. In Nanning, Guangxi, Li picked up his prizes from the lottery office. He claimed that after taxes, he would earn 171.6 million yuan (US$23.6 million), of which he contributed 5 million yuan (US$685,000) to charity.
The guy told Nanning Evening News that despite his charitable intents and generous gifts, he decided not to tell his wife and kids about their unexpected windfall. He made this choice out of concern that they would become too comfortable and lose their will to put in hard effort in the future.
