‘Unpleasant Experience’ Passenger With IndiGo Staff: ‘Did I Get Cheated?’

A frightening incident that an IndiGo Airlines customer had was made public via a recent Instagram post. The traveler complained on social media about what she saw as an unreasonable demand for an extra luggage tax, even though she had previously made her payment online.

After the customer booked a domestic trip with IndiGo after arriving in India from an outside location, her experience started. She decided to pay online for an extra 20 kg of luggage since she expected to require more than the 15 kg that was permitted. She claimed, however, that she was charged for the same luggage again when she arrived at the check-in desk.

She expressed her confusion on Instagram, noting that she knew that IndiGo Airlines only permitted one 15-kilogram checked bag, but she still anticipated needing more than one bag.

“I booked this domestic flight online and paid an extra 20 kilos. The woman at the desk asked me to pay for the extra luggage when I went to check in, the passenger recalled.

The counter workers apparently insisted on receiving money again, even though she had already paid for the extra luggage online. She felt forced to cooperate and pay the requested amount as if she had no other choice as a result of this predicament.

The traveler inquired as to whether she was required to have the 20 kg of paid luggage in her hands or whether an extra bag was automatically provided when she paid online for excess baggage.

She made it clear in her article that she did not have the opportunity to pay for an extra check-in bag when she made her online payment for excess luggage.

She did, however, take another trip the next day with the same luggage status. It’s interesting that this time, the personnel accepted her online payment for extra luggage, so she didn’t have to pay anything more.

She also asked for clarification in the video on whether her experience was unique or whether other travelers had seen such inconsistencies in luggage regulations.

“Have I been duped?” she said on the video.

“I feel when we don’t speak about such experiences, it encourages the arrogance and dominating behavior of companies like IndiGo Airlines,” the post’s author said, urging others to share their own stories.

To far, IndiGo Airlines has not provided an official statement in response to her allegations.
