While eating clams at a restaurant, a US couple discovers a rare pearl and crafts it into an engagement ring

However, a couple in the US was spared from having to make a decision when they discovered a pearl while eating at a restaurant.

The fortunate couple, Sandra “Sandy” Sikorski and Ken Steinkamp, were having dinner at the Bridge Restaurant and Raw Bar in Westerly, Rhode Island. The two people ordered a plate of clams, and one of the clams turned out to have a Mercenaria oval “pearl” measuring 9.5 millimeters in size. The pair chose to use the unusual discovery as their engagement ring after appreciating the pearl’s beauty and rarity.

The restaurant posted images of the pearl and the ring that were discovered inside the clam on their Instagram account. “We visited Bridge in December and relished some fresh quahogs,” the post’s caption said.
