Everything was given up to rebuild Bihar: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar

PATNA: Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar wrote to the people of Bihar on Tuesday, three days before the state’s second phase of Lok Sabha elections, narrating the “exemplary” work he had done since 2005 to transform Bihar. “I gave up everything to rebuild Bihar,” the CM said in his “heartfelt” letter.

In addition, Kumar’s JD (U) has put forward candidates for each of the five Lok Sabha seats up for election in the second phase: Banka, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, and Kishanganj.

The CM asked for support for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in the elections in a written plea to electors. “Bihar was in appalling and worse shape when I became chief minister in 2005. The coffers of the state were bare. There was nothing to discuss on infrastructure, energy, healthcare, or education. The letter said, “Corruption, kidnappings, murders, robberies, massacres, and mafia rule were the norm.”

The CM remembered those days when anarchy had caused merchants and businessmen to begin fleeing the state.
