The Samsung Galaxy S25 could get additional features from Google’s Gemini Nano 2

It has been rumored that Google is developing the next iteration of the Gemini Nano smartphone. The tech company reportedly plans to release the Gemini Nano 2 model by the time the Galaxy S25 premieres in 2025.
There are three versions of Google’s AI-powered chatbot, Gemini: Gemini Ultra, Gemini Pro, and Gemini Nano. The Gemini chatbot and several other cloud services are powered by the Gemini Pro model, while the cloud-based, premium Gemini Advanced experience is powered by the Gemini Ultra model.

 

 

Concurrently, the Gemini Nano model is intended for on-device functions such as creating summaries and other chores. The Gemini Nano variant is now offered on Samsung’s most recent Galaxy S24 series as well as Google’s Pixel 8 Pro (which will soon be available on Pixel 8).
Expectations for the Gemini Nano 2 on the Samsung Galaxy S25
As to a claim by Android Authority, citing the Korean daily Daum Herald Economy, Google could release a “version 2” of Gemini Nano before to the release of Samsung’s next flagship phones, the Galaxy S25 models, which are anticipated to be unveiled in January 2025.

Over the course of the next year, Google plans to make some major upgrades to its on-device AI model with the release of Gemini Nano 2. Beyond enhancing its capabilities, the article makes no mention of any other features that Google intends to add to the Gemini Nano 2 model.
According to the story, Samsung’s System LSI Division chief Cho Cheol-min, MD, has stated that the Galaxy S25 series would use Google’s next-generation on-device AI model, called Gemini Nano 2.
According to reports, the CEO also said that Samsung intends to “double” the number of people working on on-device AI solutions for Exynos CPUs. At the moment, the division has 200 workers working on creating on-device solutions for Exynos CPUs. It is anticipated that by the following year, this figure will reach 400.
A previous rumor also said that Samsung’s next flagship phones may be equipped with a new Exynos 2500 processor, which is anticipated to include a specialized AI accelerator developed by Google.
