Before the Oppn meeting, Tejashwi avoids a question on Kejriwal’s proposed ordinance

Tejashwi Yadav, the deputy chief minister of Bihar, avoided questions on Wednesday over Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal’s proposal to maintain the contentious federal ordinance at the top of the agenda for the opposition meeting on June 23.

The RJD leader said, “Neither is this the first nor will it be the final gathering of opposition leaders. Leaders from various backgrounds have agreed to meet and discuss problems that are important to them all. There’s nothing wrong with it.

Late in the evening, he was responding to questions from journalists regarding the statement made by the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, who has been rallying regional leaders to his cause by opposing the ordinance that places Delhi’s bureaucracy under the Lieutenant General, a Centre-appointed official.

The Congress, which has so far refrained from backing the Delhi CM on the matter, is said to have been the target of the Delhi CM’s attempt to set a trap for them. Yadav also made fun of the BJP’s catchphrase, “aayega to Modi hi,” which declares that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would automatically win a third term in office.

“They (the BJP) seem to have lost sight of the fact that nothing is permanent. Nobody is invincible. The RJD politician, whose party currently shares power with Nitish Kumar, a former arch-rival of the party’s leader Lalu Prasad, stated, “We ran the state but then there came a period when we had to sit in the opposition.

But the next Lok Sabha elections won’t be about a certain politician, he said. It will be about the problems that individuals encounter that appear to have been overlooked. The opposition meeting’s goal is to create a political agenda that puts the needs of the people first.

Along with Kejriwal, other influential figures such as Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, M. K. Stalin, Sharad Pawar, Mehbooba Mufti, and Hemant Soren are anticipated to attend the meeting that is slated to take place here on Friday.
