In two to three days, Nitish Kumar will decide whether to join the BJP-led NDA. References

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may once again choose to align with the BJP in order to create a new administration in the eastern state of Bihar, according to sources who spoke to India Today about the strain within the current coalition between the Janata Dal United (JDU) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The sources also said that a judgment on the topic might be made in two or three days.

Nevertheless, the JDU stalwart will hold the position of Chief Minister through the Lok Sabha elections. The sources said that the cabinets would be distributed in the same manner as they were during the previous JDU-BJP administration.

According to sources, Nitish Kumar is upset with the Congress, a member of the INDIA alliance, as well as his government partner, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD. Additionally, the now-deleted tweet by Rohini Acharya, the daughter of Lalu Yadav, harmed him. In it, she responded sharply to the Bihar Chief Minister’s ‘parivarvaad’ statement.

It’s said that Nitish Kumar is angry with Congress for not deciding how to divide seats in Bihar or other states where regional parties have joined the INDIA alliance.

According to reports, the Bihar Chief Minister also thinks that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra” has been pulled out just for the old party’s advantage and not the INDIA coalition, because Lok Sabha elections are soon.

Leaders of the INDIA group have expressed dissatisfaction following unsuccessful seat-sharing negotiations before Nitish Kumar. Disgruntled with seat sharing, West Bengal Chief Minister and supremo of the Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee, recently said that her party will be contesting the next Lok Sabha elections alone.

The INDIA alliance’s most recent virtual meeting took place on January 13, after which Congressman Mallikarjun Kharge was appointed as the group’s chair. But there hasn’t been a formal pronouncement on the subject yet.

Nitish Kumar received an opportunity to become the bloc’s convener at the same meeting. His party, however, rejected the same, claiming he was not seeking a post; the chief minister of Bihar allegedly suggested that someone from the established party should assume the role.

Following a discussion with Akhilesh Yadav, the head of the Samajwadi Party, Mamata Banerjee, and leaders of other parties who were not present at the meeting, a final decision on the convener job was expected to be made.

Although both sides agreed on the coordinator and chairman’s names, sources claim that Rahul Gandhi said at the conclusion of the meeting that a final decision should be made after further debate on the subject. According to further sources, Nitish Kumar is upset that more talks on the issue are required.

The long-simmering friction inside the Bihar governing coalition peaked this week with a verbal spat between the JD(U) and the RJD over socialist hero Karpoori Thakur’s awarding of the Bharat Ratna by the national government led by the BJP.
