Gadkari: Mother Dairy would spend $400 million to build a facility in Nagpur

In a project for which the government would provide 10 hectares of land, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Sunday that Mother Dairy will spend Rs 400 crore in Nagpur.

The senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Nagpur Lok Sabha MP said dairy products from the new factory would be provided throughout the nation while speaking to media to highlight accomplishments in the nine years of the Narendra Modi administration.

“The business would buy 30 lakh gallons of milk each day from farmers. Farmers in Nagpur and other Vidarbha areas would gain from it, he said.

Mother Dairy was established in 1974 as a part of Operation Flood and is a fully owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

When asked about the creation of jobs in the area, Gadkari said that 68,000 people had found work in MIHAN, which is home to various businesses, and that both the public and private sectors had seen increases in employment.
