Key Details of the OnePlus 12’s Leaked Renders Include a Periscope Zoom Lens, a Next-Gen Chip, and More

The OnePlus 11 series, which includes the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R, was introduced in India around five months ago. However, concept images for the OnePlus 12, which is expected to be the company’s next flagship model, have started to appear.

Renders of the rumored OnePlus 12, which demonstrate a number of modifications from the current flagship OnePlus 11, have been revealed by leaker OnLeaks and publisher MySmartPrix. The renderings, according to the journal, are based on a “testing unit prototype.” With rounded camera modules and a frosted glass rear, the look is roughly the same, but one innovation jumps out: a periscope zoom lens.

A third lens that mimics the periscope zoom lenses used in previous flagship phones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Pixel 7 Pro is located underneath what look to be a wide and ultra-wide lens. The lens’s focal length and zoom range are yet unclear, however.

The 50-megapixel main sensor of the OnePlus 12 is most likely to be its replacement for Sony’s IMX989. It is anticipated to be used in conjunction with the 50-megapixel ultrawide camera and the periscope camera that was previously discussed.

No OnePlus device has featured a periscope zoom lens up to this point. If so, the OnePlus 12 will be the first device from the manufacturer to contain this capability.

The phone, according to MySmartPrix, would sport a 6.7-inch QHD+ OLED display with support for 120Hz refresh rate, UFS 4.0 storage, and might come pre-installed with Android 14. It will be powered by the yet-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Given that the OnePlus 11’s basic model currently costs Rs 56,999, the price of the OnePlus 12 when it is released may exceed Rs 55,000.
