Updates on the stock market: Delta Corp. down 4%, Sensex down little, and Nifty below 21,550

Sensex Today: With conflicting signals from international counterparts, equity benchmark indexes began Wednesday’s trading session flat.

The S&P BSE Sensex started at 71,383, almost unchanged, and was seen fluctuating between a narrow range of zones. The 21,540 levels were tested by the NSE Nifty 50.

Sensex 30 equities had a gain of more than 1% for HCL Technologies. ITC, Titan, Wipro, and Sun Pharma were the other noteworthy giants. However, the clear losers were NTPC, Axis Bank, and Power Grid.

The larger indexes saw a little increase; the SmallCap index increased by 0.3% and the BSE MidCap index gained 0.1%.

Worldwide Cues

The Nasdaq Composite managed to gain 0.09 percent overnight, but the Dow and S&P 500 sank 0.42 and 0.15 percent, respectively.

The stocks of Asia were mixed. The Nikkei in Japan rose 1.7%, setting the pace for gains in the area. S&P/ASX 200 in Australia and Kopsi in South Korea both had 0.6% declines. Hang Seng bounced back to gain a meager 0.3%.
