Watch: Bugatti’s Next Hypercar Will Be Powered by Its V16 Hybrid Engine

The famous French luxury car maker Bugatti is known for producing some of the most powerful, opulent, and technologically sophisticated automobiles in existence.

For design, engineering, performance, and workmanship, Bugatti has upped the standard with every iteration of its super sports vehicle. Their supercars are sought-after items of desire for auto aficionados worldwide, and they are a monument to the brand’s dedication to pushing the frontiers of automotive design.

According to a recent announcement, Bugatti’s next hypercar will have an entirely new V16 engine when it debuts in June 2024. The 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine, which was the powerplant behind well-known vehicles like the Veyron and Chiron, will no longer be used by the firm.

“Eight years to the day since the Chiron was revealed, Bugatti shows the world the first page of the newest chapter in its rich history,” the company said in a news statement.

June will see the arrival of Bugatti’s most recent iteration, which was initially introduced with the Veyron 16.4. A new automotive masterpiece using a V16 hybrid drivetrain. Unmatched in every way, it is an exact representation of Bugatti’s DNA, made ‘Pour l’éternité,’ not only for the here and now but also for the future,” Bugatti said.

Car lovers’ curiosity was piqued by the carmaker’s release of a teaser video ahead of its debut, which included the sound of the V16 engine changing gears, hinting at a strong and unique character. We are undoubtedly in awe.

Although Bugatti has not revealed the new hypercar’s precise specifications, it is anticipated that the engine will be comparable in displacement to the W16 8.0-liter engine that was utilized in earlier generations. Rumor has it that the V16 engine will be mated to three electric motors, making it the first Bugatti production vehicle to use hybrid technology in decades.

With this new setup, the new hypercar should generate more power than the 1493 horsepower that the Chiron now produces, along with a quicker acceleration time. The new powerplant will be a V16 hybrid unit.

Beyond only the engine, Bugatti’s next hypercar is expected to redefine performance and design. The legendary Achim Anscheidt designed this car with the goal of combining cutting-edge design and technology with Bugatti’s DNA. On the other hand, distribution and manufacture are not expected to start until 2026.
