During an award event, Vidya Balan recalled being teased for being a bully and told, “I was forbidden from…”

Currently, Vidya Balan is occupied with promoting Do Aur Do Pyaar, her most recent film. The movie had a mixed reception from viewers at first and is having trouble at the box office. In a recent interview, the actress discussed how, at an award event, she was “bullied, made fun of” for an attire from one of her films.

During an interview on the Unfiltered by Samdish YouTube channel, Vidya Balan said that she was made fun of for her Heyy Babyy attire during an award ceremony. “Actually, I have not watched Heyy Babyy more than once, but I do think,” the actress said. I’m not sure how I did in it since I lacked the courage to watch it. Vidya said that the reaction to the movie about her was “horrible.” When asked whether Bollywood had ever treated her unfairly, she continued, saying, “A few people were threatened.” I’m not sure whether they thought they weren’t good enough or if I was too terrific.”

The actress went on to mention receiving Na-Real accolades for her Heyy Babyy outfits at the 2008 Filmfare accolades, saying, “I asked, ‘Why me?'” when they informed her I would be receiving the Na-Real award. I mean, I don’t simply wear anything I want, right? I was too new to have an opinion on anything at that point. “No, we’re just doing this fun segment so we’re going to give you this award,” they said. I told the director and costume designer, “Okay, but I’m going to share it with them,” and they told me not to. And that’s not good, in my opinion.”

She went on to say that she felt alone after confronting Manish Malhotra and director Sajid Khan at the award ceremony and experiencing her first significant encounter with nepotism. “I was shattered that night,” she claimed. I felt so alone that I was broken. I came to the conclusion that, indeed, being from a non-film household did matter. when nobody else is watching out for you. To me, it seemed like bullying. Yes, it certainly was. You can’t just because I don’t arrive with a certain shield. It was alright since I believed it to be a joke. But it stopped being humorous when I realized I was the only one being made fun of.”

In the meanwhile, Vidya Balan can now be seen in the critically acclaimed film Do aur Do Pyaar, which also features Pratik Gandhi, Sendhil Ramamurthy, and Ileana D’Cruz. Her next role will be as Manjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is slated to open in theaters this year and also stars Triptii Dimri and Kartik Aaryan.
