Imran Khan Discloses His Reason for Leaving Bollywood, Saying “It Was Kind Of A…”
Imran Khan, who gained notoriety with his breakthrough movie Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, hasn’t been seen on screen in a very long time. He last appeared with Kangana Ranaut in Katti Batti. But the love drama fizzled out, and the actor hasn’t appeared in a movie since. Well, Imran Khan recently discussed this in an interview with Film Companion. He acknowledged that Katti Batti had some influence on his choice.
He clarified to Film Companion, as reported by The Indian Express, that there is a whole ecosystem around players in the film business, including management, PR, and publicity. In this setting, everyone’s attention is always on the money—the amount of money made from movies, sponsorships, appearances, and even small-scale events like ribbon-cutting ceremonies. According to him, this financial viewpoint eventually takes precedence as the main indicator of success. He understood that his passion for movies wasn’t motivated by money, even if he was a member of this atmosphere.
The actor responded in the affirmative when asked whether his resignation was a result of Katti Batti’s failure. I never thought of it that way at the time, and I never said, “Okay, today is my last day; I’m quitting.” A week turned into a month, a month into three, a year into two, and at some point along that process, I decided that I wouldn’t do this because my heart wasn’t in it.
Everyone adored Imran’s performance in the highly regarded Hindi dark comedy Delhi Belly. He costarred with Ali Zafar and Katrina Kaif in the film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan that same year. At the box office, the film was a big success. Ali Abbas Zafar wrote the script and directed the film.
Imran said that he reads scripts last year. Imran Khan was described by Instant Bollywood as stating, “I’m reading scripts and having creative conversations with filmmakers, but I don’t have a clear answer.” Thus, maybe next year.
It was recently reported that Imran Khan has leased an apartment from director Karan Johar with his purported lover, Lekha Washington.
