Heartstopper 3 star Olivia Colman resigns, saying, “I Could Not Fit It In.” I’m in terrible shape

Oscar winner Olivia Colman has said that she will not be coming back for “Heartstopper,” a comedy-drama on Netflix, in its third season.

The British series, written and produced by Alice Oseman, stars Kit Connor and Joe Locke in the key roles. It is based on Oseman’s webcomic and graphic book of the same name.

The primary plot of the show is about Charlie Spring (Locke), a young student who develops feelings for his classmate Nick Nelson (Connor).

In an interview with Forbes, Colman, who played Nick’s mother, Sarah Nelson, revealed the news of her departure from the third season.

“I failed at the third one. It did not fit in with me. That makes me feel terrible. The 50-year-old actor said, “I feel like I was a part of one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever been part of.”

In a post on her Instagram Stories, show creator Oseman also discussed the actor’s departure for the forthcoming third season.

“The amazing Olivia Colman will not be returning to the show for season three, as many of you have already learned. It wasn’t meant to be, despite our best efforts, but that’s simply how the TV industry sometimes works. Olivia provided a magnificent performance for the evening, and we are really appreciative of it and wish her all the best,” Oseman wrote.

It’s official that the creator-writer won’t be changing the cast of Sarah, which means Colman might return for season four.

The first season of “Heartstopper” debuted on Netflix in April 2022, and the second installment debuted in August 2023. October of this year will mark the debut of the third season.
