He has collaborated with several legendary Bollywood actors throughout the course of his successful career, including Madhuri Dixit, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Salman Khan had expressed his outrage on Reddit when he was “offended” that the filmmaker chose to put him in his movies after Salman had given him two hits in an old video that has now leaked.

However, Sanjay and Salman’s creative disagreements caused the production to stop.

The show explores the cultural realities of the Heera Mandi neighborhood via the tales of courtesans and their patrons, set against the volatile background of the 1940s Indian Independence movement.

The director is said to be taking a sabbatical from his renowned historical dramas after this. Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt were recently signed by him for the movie Love and War. Although not much is known about the project, rumors have it that it will not be a historical drama but rather a love tale.
