Introducing the leading Bollywood actress of the 1990s, who had success with Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir until a career-ending error

The glitzy business undoubtedly attests to celebrity and an extravagant lifestyle. Nonetheless, sustaining celebrity and prosperity may sometimes become a challenge. One such Bollywood diva, who dominated the business in the 1990s, gave up acting to live a modest life.

The actress in question has collaborated with several celebrities, including Salman Khan, Govinda, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan. Her daring picture shoots have drawn attention. But she finally left the profession after making a mistake that brought to her ruin. She is Mamta Kulkarni, that’s for sure.

Mamta Kulkarni began her career in 1991 with the movie Tiranga and gained notoriety the next year with Aashiq Awara, where she had a prominent part. She then went on to feature in some of the most popular Bollywood movies, including Ghatak, which also starred Sunny Deol, Baazi, which starred Aamir Khan, and Karan Arjun, which also starred Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

The actress rose to prominence in Bollywood in the 1990s because to these movies. She did, however, appear nude on the cover of Stardust Magazine in 1993. Everyone had differing opinions on the picture shoot, which sparked a heated debate. Despite this, the actress went on to feature in several popular films, like Chhupa Rustam: A Musical Thriller, Policewala Gunda with Dharmendra, and Kismat with Govinda.

But before to Chhupa Rustam, the actress played the major role in Rajkumar Santoshi’s China Gate. Frustrated and incensed at the way things turned out, Kulkarni attacked Santoshi when the movie came out, claiming that he had reduced her screen time because she had turned down his overtures. The director refuted all of these rumors. But this was Kulkarni’s career-ending blow. After that, she starred in a very small number of films and had very few offers.

After quitting acting, the actress said that she had turned into a yogini and even wrote a book called Autobiography of a Yogini, which detailed her life’s journey, later in 2010. After making her last appearance in the Bangladeshi film Shesh Bongsodhar in 2003, Mamta Kulkarni has been out of the spotlight. She did, however, make news in 2013 when it was reported that she wed drug lord Vicky Goswami. Later, in 2016, Vicky was identified as the mastermind of an international narcotics operation valued at Rs 2000 crore, in which the actress was cited as a co-accused. She has, however, refuted any accusations of this kind.
