With Sandese Aayenge on OTT this time

It would seem that JP Dutta’s grandiose military dramas are best suited for the large screen. However, it seems that the seasoned director is also prepared to change with the times, even if most people are hopping on the OTT bandwagon right now. The filmmaker, who is best known for the films Border (1997), Refugee (2000), and LOC: Kargil (2003), is reportedly preparing to launch a military drama on digital platforms. The script for the show has been locked down. It is going to be a grandiose patriotic play based on actual warfare.

Disney+ Hotstar is eager to start filming as soon as possible, according to a person familiar with the plans. His daughter, Nidhi Dutta, will make the gift under their auspices.

It seems that Binoy Gandhi, Nidhi’s director-husband, was eager to helm the production. However, the seasoned director chose to go on since he is preoccupied with Ghudchadi, starring Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. The senior brass didn’t want to wait too long to get started on the streamer’s grandiose initiative, the insider continues. Casting is anticipated to start shortly, according to the producers.

Along with Border 2, this is the Duttas’ second project planned for this year. It was claimed last year that Sunny Deol and Ayushmann Khurrana would star in the 1997 hit film’s sequel, which would premiere in 2024. The purpose of Border 2 is to examine the context of the 1971 India-Pakistan conflict via the individual accounts of the combatants.
