With season 5, “The Witcher” comes to an end

News that will shock “The Witcher” devotees! According to Variety, Netflix just revealed that the adored fantasy series would be ending with its forthcoming Season 5.

The crew is now working diligently on Season 4, with filming having begun. A teaser for Season 4’s table read was leaked by Netflix, and it included well-known actors like Liam Hemsworth with exceptional actors like Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Cassie Clare, and Mahesh Jadu.

The casting of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia in Season 4 is a noteworthy departure from Henry Cavill’s portrayal. After the third season premiered in 2023, Netflix officially announced Cavill’s departure back in 2022.

Hemsworth said of his excitement for the role, “As a fan of ‘Witcher,’ I’m thrilled for the chance to portray Geralt of Rivia.” Henry Cavill has made a lasting impression on the role, and I’m appreciative of the chance to carry on his legacy in Geralt’s next adventure. Henry, you have inspired me with your depiction, and even though I have enormous shoes to fill, I can’t wait to fully immerse myself in the world of “The Witcher.”

The remaining “Witcher” books by Andrzej Sapkowski, such as “Baptism of Fire,” “The Tower of the Swallow,” and “Lady of the Lake,” will be adapted for television in Seasons 4 and 5. Season 4’s release date is still pending, however.

With great anticipation for the next adventures in the world of “The Witcher,” fans can be confident that the series will end spectacularly, showcasing the epic tale and cherished characters they have grown to love.
