Bigger Than the Titanic, the Icon of the Seas Discover the 2024 largest cruise ship in the world

It’s not the Titanic, so forget everything you thought you knew about the largest cruise ship in the world. Be prepared for some mind-blowing information about the Icon of the Seas, a massive ship that dwarfs the Titanic in size.

The Icon of the Seas, which is currently being built for Royal Caribbean International, will serve as the class’s flagship. It is anticipated to start running in early 2024, leaving from the busy Port of Miami. This ship will hold the record for being the biggest cruise ship in the world in terms of size, with a mind-blowing gross tonnage of 250,800.

The statistics behind this enormous ship will astound you. With a crew of 2,350 and a remarkable 5,610 guests in double-occupancy accommodations, the Icon of the Seas can carry up to 7,600 people.

This ship doesn’t fall short in terms of onboard attractions. You’ll have access to 20 decks and be surrounded by luxury and entertainment. Imagine yourself taking a dip in one of the seven pools on the ship or enjoying the rush of sliding down one of the six water slides. But that’s not all; be ready to see world-first amenities including the steepest water slide, tallest waterfall, biggest waterpark, and first-ever suspended infinity pool discovered on a ship.

On June 19, 2023, The Icon of the Seas set off on its first round of sea trials after a minor delay brought on by unfavourable weather. The ship arrived back to the Meyer Turku shipyard on June 22 after a few days at sea. The ship will go through final system modifications during this phase, and the interior areas will be painstakingly finished and outfitted.

Because “Icon of the Seas” was going to be the name of their ground-breaking ship, Royal Caribbean submitted a trademark registration for it back in 2016.

Let’s now discuss bundles. Whatever your budget, you have a few options. The least expensive plan, which includes a seven-night stay in a cosy interior cabin in September 2024, begins at only £1,482 per person.

However, you may choose an opulent suite if you’re feeling fancy and willing to splash out. Depending on the dates you choose, be ready for pricing variations. A seven-night suite stay will now cost £2,694 per person in September 2024. However, the same package soars to a staggering £6,041 in March 2024.

With all this knowledge in hand, you are now prepared to board the Icon of the Seas for a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
