Donald Trump’s mugshot is used as the campaign’s symbol and is printed on t-shirts and coffee mugs

The first-ever mug photograph of a former American president, Donald Trump, was made public not long after. His campaign for president in 2024 has already made money from the viral images by having them printed on t-shirts and coffee mugs. Trump turned himself in to Georgia officials at the Fulton County Jail on suspicion of attempting to rig the state’s 2020 election results.

Before being released on Thursday, Trump, 77, spent just 22 minutes in the prison where he was detained. The former president handed himself in four times this year after federal and state authorities filed criminal accusations against him. His surrender in Georgia marks the fourth time this year. However, this is the first time a mug photo of him has been taken.

Trump returned to X, previously Twitter, after being freed on a bail of USD 200,000 bond, writing “election interference” and “never surrender” and posting a photo of his mug photograph.

On the website for his 2024 campaign, he also included a link to the article on X with the image. Trump said in a post that appears on the website’s front page, “Today, at the notoriously violent jail in Fulton County, Georgia, I was ARRESTED despite having committed NO CRIME.”

His official campaign was selling T-shirts with the picture on them, the BBC said. The words were, “NEVER SURRENDER.” Additionally offered are mugs and stickers. He was listed by the prison staff as having blue eyes, blond or strawberry hair, and measurements of 215 pounds (97 kg) and 6 feet, 3 inches tall. His prison ID was P01135809.

Before he was captured on camera in Georgia on Thursday night, Trump’s team raised money in anticipation of a possible mug picture. Anyone may purchase a T-shirt for $36 that has a bogus booking picture of Trump and the phrase “not guilty.” There are dozens of such designs for sale online, many of which will appeal to Trump’s detractors.
