Maharashtra: On “Vijaya Dashmi,” devotees go to the Sai Baba Temple in Shirdi

On the festival of “Vijaya Dashmi” or “Dussehra,” worshippers came to Shirdi, Maharashtra’s Sai Baba Temple.

Devotees enthusiastically sang “Sai Baba ki Jai” while priests conducted “Pooja”

According to legend, Sai Baba, a well-known spiritual figure, was born in Shirdi. For Hindus, it is one of the most important places to visit on pilgrimage. Every day, a multitude of ‘Sai Baba’ followers crowd the temple and form lines to see him.

Today, the nation is commemorating Dussehra, which commemorates Lord Rama’s victory over Ravana. However, Ravana is honored for his “intellect” at a special shrine in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The Dashanan Temple in Kanpur is dedicated to the idea that Ravana was a learned priest. He lost, nonetheless, to Lord Rama because of his haughtiness.

In honor of Dussehra, the Dashanan temple was opened earlier today for devotion by followers of Ravana.

“On this day of Dussehra, we open this temple to worship Ravana, and in the evening, once the effigy has been burned, we shut this temple. Only on the day of Dussehra does it open.Ram Bajpai, the purohit of the Dashanan temple, stated, “We adore him for his expertise.

The festival of “Dussehra” or “Vijaya Dashmi” commemorates the triumph of virtue over evil.

Additionally, it signifies the end of the nine-day Navratri holiday.

It is celebrated on the tenth day of the seventh lunar month of Ashvin in the Hindu calendar. The celebration normally takes place in September and October in the Gregorian calendar.

The celebration also heralds the beginning of Diwali, the significant festival of lights that follows Vijayadashami by 20 days.
